These are dogs in care of Border Collie Rescue of California. These dogs are temperament tested, have some training, and are fully evaluated.

Maya (FEMALE) is a 3-year-old black & white smooth coat spayed female Border Collie. Maya is a little bit shy at first, but warms up very quickly to humans, male and female alike. She loves to cuddle and is doing very well with obedience training. She has learned sit, down, leave it and is doing well with wait and stay. She walks well on a leash and will hop right into the car and will lay down nicely on long car rides. So far, Maya is showing signs that she will need to be with a male dog as she does not do well with females. With a strong handler, I believe this may be able to be somewhat overcome, but will likely be happiest with a male dog or as an only dog. Maya will not be placed in a home with cats and we will be testing her on smaller dogs shortly. Although she may not be a dog park dog, Maya wants to bond very badly and absolutely loves all humans she has met. She has done very well with children as young as 7 years old. Maya will need a somewhat experienced handler as she may try to take over the house, but she submits very quickly and is very little trouble overall. Maya is a lovely dog who probably had a fairly rough start to her life. All she needs is some positive love and attention and she will be forever loyal. SAQINA: (FEMALE) 2-3 year old spayed, current on shots, AVID chipped. Her name means "Honest Friend" If you are interested in Saqina, please fill out an online adoption application. She will be ready for adoption after May 12. Check back for more information on her as we get to know her more. At this time she seems to be a very friendly girl that just wants to have a person to call her own. She has been good with her kennel mate, not food aggressive with him. Walks nicely on leash. IRENE (FEMALE) "peace or goddess of peace" spayed rough coat Black and white (mostly black) Border Collie Female. Irene will be vetted to bring her up on all her shots and chipped this coming week. She will be ready for adoption by May 15. Irene came in with her playmate, BUCKAROO. We are taking applications for Irene, but she will not be adopted until all her vetting is finished. We are hoping that she will be ready for adoption by May 15 if all goes on schedule. Irene lost her home along with her younger playmate, BUCKAROO, due to no reason of theirs. Their owner was injured and will be lifetime bedridden and can not take care of them. Irene is friendly with everyone. Good on leash, less active than her playmate, Jack but is a lovely sweet girl. She rides well in a vehicle. And would make a wonderful addition to almost any home. She is a bit confused about all the changes in her life, since she lived in one home for all her life. The saving grace right now is she still has Jack, who has been with her since he was only about 8 weeks old. TYE: (Male) (Special Needs) a 11 month old pure bred Black/white Neutered male Border Collie. A very special little boy that has been neutered, current on all shots and chipped. Tye has some vision lost but you really never know it. He is a wonderful boy that learn quickly and fast. He can not go to a home with a swimming pool that is Not Fence or livestock. Once he learns where everything is at your home, he appears to everyone that he has no 'handicap' at all. He is housetrained, knows where the doggie door is, and plays with his foster sister. He is crate trained and just wants to be with you and another dog. Tye is great on walks and no believes that he has a vision problem. He does see some but highly recommend that he has another dog to team up with. His memory of things is so shocking to all of us, that it is hard to believe that he has any vision loss at all. Anyone that is serious about adopting this wonderful boy, must be very serious and not have any 'pity' for this boy cause he will show you that he is able to get around and do things with and for you. FRANKIE: (Female) 12 months to 18 months old spayed tri color rough coat female. Frankie is good with other dogs, humans and just wants a family to call her own. A very sweet girl that wants to learn to trust humans and be part of a loving family. She is current on all shots, dewormed, AVID chipped and hoping to have her own family real soon. BELLE *(FEMALE)* 8 month old spayed Tri color female. She is current on all her shots and already chipped. Good with other dogs, and highly recommend a home that has had Border Collies in the past and want to do agility or some dog sport with her. SHADOW: A neutered 2 year old semi rough Black/White male. He is current on all shots, Avid chipped. He is housetrained and also understand the use of a doggie door. He had two other female Border Collies in his home. Shadow lost his home due to his owner having a stoke that will keep him in the hospital and rehab for at least 6 months. LIBBY: (FEMALE) LIBBY: 7 month old spayed Black w/little white on her chest and toes Border Collie (mix with Lab) female. Her mother is a pure bred Border Collie, but as with all the litter, she had to have a retiever/lab for a father. This is a great mix for a family with children. She is current on all her shots and chipped already. She is wonderful with children even ones as young as 14 months old. She is playful and just want a home to call her own.  We highly recommend a home with another dog so She has someone to romp and play with. She is very unhappy being an only dog. BELLA: (FEMALE) BELLA: 10 month old spayed tri color "DESIGNER PUP";. Bella is most likely mixed Beagle/Doxie. Why pay $1,500 to $3,000 for what they are calling designer pups when you can have this sweet girl who is already spayed, AVID chipped, current on all shots, house trained, loves children, people. good with other dogs and even cats. You get it all in one little girl that was dumped in the high desert in our dry hot heat to deal with no water, no shade, no food. *CAP:* aka SNOOPY (Male) 1 year old Liver/Red and White male. He is schedule to be neutered on July 14 and will be ready for adoption the following weekend. Cap is current on all shots, wormed and will be Avid Chipped when neutered. He came to us from a central CA shelter that said he was Black and white. But Cap is so dark red, that it is liver color.
